Alternative Music - The Years
The Years are an alternative rock / pop guitar band from Edinburgh in Scotland and pride themselves on writing and recording killer songs. With their brand of early 90's radio-friendly jangling guitars and memorable melodies their aim is make classic records that will stand the test of musical time.
They are Graham Thomson, Phil Hopwood and Robin Grace and were recently joined in the recording studio by drummer Denis Lynch.
New Music - recording the songs
The Years are currently recording an album for release in early 2009. This will be released on CD / record / MP3 and a variety of download formats later in the year through a range of internet outlets.
The band recently spent some time in Mission Hall Studios in Edinburgh capturing their sound using a mix of vintage equipment and modern day technology. They are now working on the tracks in their own recording studio.
The band are planning to release their music independently and will be taking a holistic approach to spreading the word about their alternative sound including release in various formats, getting radio play and marketing over the web.
